    PRE-HANGING

At Doors4Home we offer a factory pre-hanging option. By selecting the pre-hanging option, you will receive a door hinged, prepped for handle and assembled in a frame (also called the door "jamb"). Factory pre-hanging ensures easy installation with a precise fit ready to install in the door opening, with no on-site assembly required. This reduces construction time and lowers project cost. If the pre-hung door is also factory finished, this further reduces steps and cost in the overall construction process.

Each pre-hung door unit is weathertight and includes:

    • 4-5/8" or 6-5/8" wide composite jambs
    • Adjustable Aluminum door sill (threshold) in Bronze or Mill Aluminum
    • Q-lon weatherstripping in Bronze
    • 4"x4" commercial grade ball-bearing hinges in Oil Rubbed Bronze, Satin Nickel or Flat Black
    • Exterior brickmould
    • Pre-drilled door for handle and deadbolt

    Door Sill / Threshold

All standard pre-hung exterior door units use adjustable composite sills which provide many benefits over wood thresholds. Composite sills help prevent problems like water penetration, rot, warping, and discoloration. Our standard adjustable composite sill includes a peel-off protection film which protects the sill during construction of the house, and is made from 100% composite and aluminum materials. The "adjustable" feature allows the top of the sill to be adjusted with a screwdriver to match the correct height required for the bottom of the door. All thresholds are available in 2 colors: Dark Bronze Aluminum or Mill (pewter color) Aluminum.

Optionally, you may select the Endura® Brand adjustable composite threshold or an ADA threshold. The ADA threshold is approved for use with wheelchairs. ADA sills are 5" x 1/2" or 7" x 1/2". The Endura Z-Series Sill System (for an extra charge) provides a walnut colored sill cap, the adjustable feature, and a hard plastic protective construction cover.

    Press-On Weatherstripping

High quality press on Q-lon weatherstripping. Made of polyethylene-clad urethane foam.
The weatherstripping is applied at the top and sides of the door to keep out drafts.

    Handle Preparation

    Standard Handle and Deadbolt Preparation
We will pre-drill the door for a handle with 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" backset.
    Bore diameter: 2-1/8"
Backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the bore hole.
Deadbolt is drilled 5-1/2" above the handle.
